Professor Jill Maben

Jill undertook nurse training at Addenbrookes hospital, Cambridge, gaining an SRN qualification. She was subsequently awarded a BA in History by University College, London, an MSc in Nursing by King’s College, London and a PhD by the University of Southampton.

Her PhD studied the ideals and values of new nurses and the extent to which they were able to implement these in practice. Following a post doctoral fellowship at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical, Jill joined the National Nursing Research Unit as Senior Research Fellow and Deputy Director in April 2007. She was appointed Director in January 2011 and was awarded her personal chair in September 2011.
